American Axes opened in January 2020 and the business plan was always to open many axe throwing venues across the country offering a best-in-class experience. As fate would have it, we were closed for COVID-19 after only 9 weeks of action. As the pandemic did for so many, it slowed our growth plan significantly. Being an entertainment company, we feel fortunate to have survived and grown during the pandemic by adding mobile axe throwing in 2020 and then a second store in Atlanta at The Works ATL in 2021.
While our measured approach to growth was the right one, we are very excited to be opening store #3 at Edgewater Public Market in Edgewater, Colorado.
When telling friends about our intention to open a store in Colorado, the first question is almost always, “why Denver?” – hinting at the long distance between stores. The answer to that question is the opportunity. We are thrilled to be moving into the Edgewater Public Market because it’s an incredible place where it’s impossible not to feel a sense of community and friendship between the tenants. Our location shares a wall with Barquentine Brewing and about 150 feet away from a wonderful assortment of around 15 food vendors. In the middle of all of that are a variety of amazing niche shops – yarn, essential oils, tattoo parlor, local flavor t-shirts and barber shop to name a few. The opportunity to be affiliated with all of these other great businesses is absolutely the reason we chose Colorado. Axe Throwing goes best when it is paired with craft beer and local businesses and we are very excited to bring a new activity to the market.
As our third location opens in November 2022, it’s an unbelievably exciting time for us as a company as we intend to prove our newest vision of what Axe Throwing is and the amenities that our customers have access to.
Any suggestions as to where we should go next – let us know!
